Dear Volunteer: First of all, thank you for helping us by volunteering your time within our program. Your time with us is always appreciated. Below is a list of things you can do while volunteering in my preschool classroom.

  • Pretend Play- Please make sure there are only four children in this area at a time and organize the available materials by category if time allows.

  • Carpentry- Please repair broken toys or equipment as you see fit.

  • Library Area- Please read to the children in this area or allow them to read to you. If the books are unorganized you may reposition them on the shelves.

  • Writing Center- Work with a small group of children on the literacy activity for the day, organize writing materials (paper, pencil, etc.), clean or bleach the dry erase board.Science Area- Monitor the center for safety, organize materials and engage in activities with the children.

  • Lunchtime- Please help serve the children their food, offer proper reminders to children to wash hands, sit with children at the table while they eat. After the meal please clean the surface area and sweep the floor underneath the table.

  • Naptime- Cut or draw materials for art projects, bleach toys, and please monitor children during naptime.
